What is a custom remap?
Fully custom, dyno-developed ECU files — not drag-and-drop generics
A remap reprograms the software that controls your engine. Manufacturers ship deliberately conservative settings for global fuel, climate and emissions rules — leaving real headroom in most modern turbo engines.
The difference with ARA is how the file is written. Every remap is read from your ECU, then developed and refined on my dyno in Bucknell for your exact vehicle, condition and use. No generic file downloaded from a folder someone bought once.

Danny Fisher — ARA Performance
I'm Danny — a full-time fabricator by trade who lived for cars outside of work. Nights and weekends I remapped mates' vehicles at a local garage, learning ECUs inside out and building up my dyno work.
About a year ago I went full-time in my own unit in Bucknell, right next to the same partner garage. Everything I do is a fully custom, dyno-developed file — never a drag-and-drop generic. It's better for the engine, and it's the whole reason customers come back.
A lot of the cars on my dyno arrive after being quoted thousands elsewhere. I'll tell you plainly what's actually wrong, how it happened, and how I fix it properly — for a fraction of main-dealer quotes.

How much is a Stage 1 or Stage 2 remap?

What's the difference between a generic remap and a fully custom file?

Generic 'drag and drop' maps are the same file loaded onto thousands of cars — no idea if it suits your engine's condition, mods or fuel. My files are developed on my dyno for your car, so the gains are safe and repeatable.
Is it safe for the engine?

Yes — that's the whole point of custom mapping. I keep everything inside safe tolerances for your specific engine. If a car already has a bad map on it, I'll replace it with a proper file that's kinder to the engine.
How long does a remap take?

Usually a few hours in the unit. I'll book you in for a slot that works and you'll drive away the same day with the printout in hand.
Do I have to come to Bucknell?

Yes — the dyno lives in my unit in Bucknell, Shropshire. I cover about a 30-mile radius so most of Shropshire and North Herefordshire is on the doorstep.
What vehicles do you remap?
